Last week’s “On arrival seminar” in Athens was about to inform us, to empower us, to inspire us and to teach us Greek culture.
All that happened. Thanks to the great trainers, a great program and great participants from all over Europe.
30 EVS Volunteers were accomodated at a 4 stars hotel in Glyfada in Athens. As I already told it was located 5 minutes away from the beach therefore we went every night for a beachparty and almost every lunch break there. We were observated by a group of Romas (to be political correct) that washed there clothes at the beach shower and some men masturbated at night when we passed their cars in order to get back to the hotel.
To the program: It was the most biorythmic seminar that I have ever visited. With 2,5h lunchbreak, and after each 90 minutes 30 minutes coffeebreak it was fantastic and never gave us the feeling: “uuuuh, again seminar”. A lot of get-to-know-each-other-games, energizers, group work etc made it all most enjoyable.
At Friday I was very sad to say goodbye, but planned to visit the other volunteers in my free time. And listening to others and their projects I got really motivated to do something and improve this world:) Extremely naive, I know, but don’t tell me!
Actually there is so much to tell about those 5 days, that I just reduced my report to the very basic infos.
